Rationale
- Fostering an Active Lifestyle from an Early Age
Statistics show a rising trend in childhood obesity and sedentary lifestyles. The CaliKids Games serves as a catalyst for change, inspiring children aged 12 and under to stay active through fitness activities that are both fun and physically challenging. - Safe and Holistic Foundational Physical Development
Calisthenics relies solely on bodyweight training, making it one of the safest forms of exercise for growing children. This competition focuses on building correct posture, strengthening core muscles, and improving coordination and flexibility—all of which are vital for healthy growth and development. - A Grassroots Platform for Talent Identification
This sport serves as the foundation for movement mechanics, supporting future transitions into high-performance sports like gymnastics, athletics, and martial arts. Through this competition, young talents demonstrating exceptional strength, discipline, and mental resilience can be identified and nurtured from an early stage. - Building Mental Resilience and Self-Discipline
Through a structured workout competition format, participants are challenged not only physically but are also trained to stay focused, remain disciplined in training, and build high self-confidence. Competing in a healthy environment instills positive character traits and a strong sense of sportsmanship in young children.

-
Nurturing a Competitive and Confident Youth CommunityTo provide a healthy and fun competitive platform that builds self-confidence, strong discipline, and resilient sportsmanship among the younger generation.

Event Structure & Rules
To ensure a smooth program flow and the safety of all participants, the CaliKids Games will be conducted according to the following structure and regulations:
1. Competition Categories
Participation is widely open to children aged 12 and under. Competitors are divided fairly based on gender and physical development stages as follows:

2. Competition Format & Circuit Layout
The event features a Time Attack Circuit format. Participants must complete a sequence of six (6) designated workout stations in chronological order. Winners for each category will be determined strictly by the fastest completion time.
-
- Station Spacing: Each station is separated by a 5-meter running distance.
- Repetition Rule: Participants must complete the required repetitions with correct technique (form) before running to the next station.
- Judging Protocol: On-site judges at each station will only count valid repetitions (incorrect form will result in a “No-Rep” and will not be counted).

Workout Station Breakdown
Station 1: Star Jumps (10 Reps)
-
- Under 9 Years Old: Performed standardly.
- Under 12 Years Old: Performed standardly.
Station 2: Monkey Bar Traverse
-
- Under 9 Years Old (Modified): Hand-walking across the bars with direct judge assistance (to accommodate height and shorter reach).
- Under 12 Years Old (Full): Must traverse unsupported from one end of the monkey bars to the other.
Station 3: Knee Push-Ups (10 Reps)
-
- Under 9 Years Old: Relaxed Range of Motion (ROM). The chest does not need to touch the floor; a 90-degree elbow bend is acceptable.
- Under 12 Years Old: Strict Form. The chest must touch the ground marker, and arms must fully lock out at the top of each rep.
Station 4: Australian Pull-Ups (10 Reps)
-
- Under 9 Years Old: Uses a higher bar (more upright/standing body angle) to lighten the bodyweight load and ease the pull.
- Under 12 Years Old: Uses a lower bar (body positioned more parallel to the ground) to maximize the strength challenge.
Station 5: Sit-Ups (10 Reps)
-
- Under 9 Years Old: Hands placed on the chest or by the thighs for easier leverage. Feet will be securely held by a judge.
- Under 12 Years Old: Hands crossed over the shoulders or placed behind the ears (no neck-pulling allowed) to fully isolate abdominal strength.
Station 6: Jump Squats (10 Reps)
-
- Under 9 Years Old: A small jump (feet must clearly leave the ground) immediately following the squat.
- Under 12 Years Old: A higher, powerful jump following a deep squat where thighs must break or reach parallel to the ground.
